Students are reading, working on their projects or perhaps taking a rest. It is unusually quiet and silent. Why? The reason is a strike in the region affecting all transportation because of a common wealth meeting in Colombo Sri Lanka. The government of Sri Lanka is accused of violation of human rights and the strike is a manifestation to support and highlight human rights issues.
The strike also effects the LIR programme as there is no transportation but nobody is complaining. The schedule is tight and a day off gives space for other activities such as blogging, catching up with work, swimming in the ocean or simply contemplating about life in India./Ing-Marie
